What is the gite La Bergerie at Les Marronniers?
A fully renovated 16th-century timber-framed cottage of 130 m² (1,400 sq ft) over two floors, set within the landscaped grounds of the estate. Rated as a 3-star self-catering cottage (3 Epis, Gîtes de France), it sleeps 2 to 6 people, just a few steps from the owners’ own house.

How many people can the gite La Bergerie accommodate?
Up to 6 people (children under 2 are not counted), across 3 bedrooms. A travel cot can be added on request.

How many bedrooms and bathrooms does the cottage have?
Three bedrooms: Ouistreham on the ground floor (160 cm/king-size double bed, large picture window overlooking the garden and the Dives valley), Etretat upstairs (140 cm double bed, spacious), and Bayeux upstairs (twin 90 cm beds, valley view). The cottage has 2 bathrooms and 2 toilets, including one separate toilet on the ground floor.

Is the gite La Bergerie suitable for a family stay with children?
Absolutely: the bedrooms can accommodate an extra child’s bed, the enclosed 1,000 m² garden has a swing and a 4.60 m (15 ft) diameter trampoline, and direct access to the estate’s meadow and woodland lets children play safely.

Facilities and comfort

What kitchen facilities does the cottage have?
An open-plan, modern, fully equipped kitchen: fridge-freezer, electric oven, 4 gas hobs, microwave, dishwasher, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, a raclette grill, plus all the utensils and crockery you need to cook freely.

Is household linen provided at the cottage?
Yes, sheets and household linen are included in the rental and the beds are made up before you arrive. Bath towels are not included as standard but can be rented as an extra (€8 per person).

Does the cottage have internet access?
Yes, free high-speed wifi is available throughout the cottage.

Is the cottage air-conditioned?
The cottage is heated by electric convector and radiant heaters, a 220-litre electric water heater, and above all a cosy log fireplace for cooler evenings. Unlike the guest rooms, it is not air-conditioned: its thick 16th-century timber-frame structure and leafy garden keep it naturally cool in summer.

Does the cottage have its own garden or outdoor space?
Yes, a private, flower-filled garden of about 1,000 m², with a terrace, garden furniture and a barbecue, enclosed by a hedge for privacy, with direct access to the estate’s meadow and woodland.

Is there parking and a bike shelter?
Yes, the cottage has its own independent access, free private parking and a bike shelter.

Can I do laundry during my stay?
Yes, the cottage is equipped with a washing machine, an iron and ironing board, a vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies.

Breakfast and meals

Is breakfast included in the cottage rental?
No: the cottage is rented self-catering, with its own fully equipped kitchen. A Les Marronniers-style breakfast service (home-made jams, local produce) can, however, be arranged for an extra charge, on request.

Rates, booking, check-in and check-out

What is the rental rate for the gite La Bergerie?
From €473 per week for direct bookings, with rates varying by season — from around €430 in low season up to over €700 in July and August. Please contact us to confirm the exact rate for your dates.

What is included in the cottage rental rate?
Household linen (sheets, beds made up on arrival), firewood for the fireplace, water, parking and wifi. Electricity is billed according to the meter reading, and end-of-stay cleaning is the guest’s responsibility (or available as a paid option).

What are the check-in and check-out times at the cottage?
Check-in is on Saturdays from 4:30 pm, check-out the following Saturday by 10 am. During school holidays, the cottage can only be booked by the week; outside these periods, other formats are available on request.

Is a security deposit required for the cottage rental?
Yes, a €500 deposit is requested at the start of the stay and refunded in full at departure. A rental agreement is signed in advance and a booking deposit is required.

Are pets allowed at the gite La Bergerie?
Unlike the guest rooms, pets are welcome at the gite La Bergerie, for an extra charge.
