What kind of welcome does Domaine Les Marronniers offer?
Christine and Vincent Delannoy welcome you personally, in the warm and friendly spirit of a true bed & breakfast: availability, respect for your peace and quiet, and advice on local restaurants and things to see, to help you plan your stay day by day. The estate is recognised by Gîtes de France, the Michelin Green Guide, Le Routard and Le Petit Futé for the quality of its welcome.

Is Domaine Les Marronniers suitable for couples or families?
Both: rooms range from 24 to 45 m² (260 to 480 sq ft), some family-friendly with several beds (Honfleur, Cabourg), and the gite La Bergerie (130 m², 3 bedrooms, up to 6 people) is ideal for a family or a group of friends renting by the week.

Are pets allowed?
For the comfort of all our guests, pets are not allowed in the guest rooms. Please contact us if you have a specific question.

What are the check-in, breakfast and check-out times?
Rooms are available from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Breakfast is served between 8:45 am and 10 am. Check-out is by 11 am, to allow time for the room to be prepared for the next guests.

Are the rooms air-conditioned?
Yes, all 5 guest rooms and the gite have reversible air-conditioning — powered by the electricity produced by our solar panels, for year-round comfort with a minimal carbon footprint.

What kind of bedding does Domaine Les Marronniers offer?
Depending on the room, you will find a 160 cm (king/queen) double bed (Deauville, Honfleur, Trouville, Cabourg) or a 140 cm double bed (Houlgate), with extra beds available for families. Household linen in cotton percale, in colours matched to each room’s decor, is included in the price.

Is bed linen provided and included in the room price?
Yes: the price of each room includes bed linen, breakfast, the tourist tax and, of course, our personal welcome — no surprises on arrival.

What facilities are available in the rooms?
Depending on the room: private sauna and walk-in shower (Deauville), spa bath (Honfleur, Trouville, Cabourg), large ground-level shower (Houlgate). All rooms benefit from free fibre wifi, free private parking and a charging point for electric or hybrid vehicles.

What is the difference between the guest rooms and the gite La Bergerie?
The 5 rooms — Deauville, Honfleur, Trouville, Cabourg, Houlgate — are each named after a town on the Côte Fleurie and are rented by the night with breakfast included. The gite La Bergerie, a former 16th-century sheepfold (130 m², 3 bedrooms, up to 6 people), is rented self-catering, ideal for a family holiday or a stay with friends.

What is included in breakfast at Domaine Les Marronniers?
A generous, home-made breakfast: home-made jams and cakes made with fruit from our own garden, cramique-style bread, yoghurts, fresh eggs from our own hens, plus local Pays d’Auge produce — bread from the Cambremer bakery, Normandy cheeses, organic apple juice, teurgoule rice pudding and local honey.

Is breakfast included in the room rate?
Yes, breakfast is always included, along with bed linen and the tourist tax. It is served every morning between 8:45 am and 10 am.

Where do the breakfast products come from?
Largely home-made — from our vegetable garden, fruit trees and hens — supplemented by local Pays d’Auge producers, for a breakfast that is healthy, delicious and truly rooted in Normandy’s terroir.

Normandy gastronomy and the Cider Route

Is Domaine Les Marronniers well placed to discover Normandy gastronomy?
Ideally so: Cambremer is a « Site Remarquable du Goût » (Site of Remarkable Taste), on the Cider Route and close to the Normandy Cheese Route. The 19 official cider, pommeau and calvados producers of the Cider Route are all less than 15 minutes’ drive away.

Is it easy to find restaurants near the estate?
Yes, from village bistros to gourmet tables: we happily recommend Les Trois Rois or L’Authentic in Cambremer, La Dorette in Bonnebosq or the Auberge de Valsemé, all less than 15 minutes away. We’re always glad to suggest a restaurant to suit your mood for the day.

Where can I buy local Normandy produce near the estate?
The fine food shop in Cambremer and the cider, calvados and Normandy cheese farms along the Cider Route are just a few minutes from the estate — the perfect way to take home a genuine taste of Normandy.

Is Domaine Les Marronniers a quiet place to relax?
Yes, that is even its very purpose: our 17th-century manor house sits on a rise surrounded by 25 hectares of woodland and hedgerows, with a spectacular view over the Dives valley. Our guests come here to truly unwind, far from any noise.

What kind of landscape surrounds the estate?
Stud farms, hedgerows and apple orchards typical of the Pays d’Auge, a tree-planted garden and 25 hectares of private woodland: unspoilt countryside just a few kilometres from the village of Cambremer.

Is the estate far from the sea?
No: you’re in the countryside, yet only 20 minutes from the beaches of Cabourg and Houlgate, and 30 minutes from Deauville — the best of both worlds, sea and countryside.

Can you go hiking from the estate?
Yes: the Pays d’Auge hedgerow landscape and country lanes around Cambremer are ideal for hiking, including within the 25 hectares of private woodland surrounding Les Marronniers itself.

Does Domaine Les Marronniers have a genuine environmental approach?
Yes: our solar panels cover 75% of the electricity needs of the rooms and the gite, we harvest 15,000 litres (about 3,300 gallons) of rainwater, and we protect the biodiversity of our 25 hectares of woodland. A responsible stay, without compromising on comfort.

Where does the electricity that powers the rooms and air-conditioning come from?
From our solar panels, installed on the estate, which cover 75% of our electricity needs — notably to run the reversible air-conditioning in each room with clean, locally produced energy.

How is rainwater used on the estate?
We harvest 15,000 litres of rainwater, which supply three toilets and our washing machines, and are used to water the vegetable garden and the more fragile flowers during dry spells — saving up to 500 litres of drinking water on our busiest days.

Does the estate protect local biodiversity?
Yes: within our 25 hectares of woodland, we leave some areas uncut and dead trees standing, we are gradually diversifying the tree species (replacing diseased poplars and ash trees), and we maintain the hedgerows that shelter birds and insects.

Are cleaning products and linen managed responsibly?
Yes: we use eco-friendly cleaning products (white vinegar, baking soda), we optimise laundry using harvested rainwater, and we favour long-lasting cotton percale household linen.
